Data Requests and Deletion
Access, export and deletion, and what happens when you uninstall. Effective 21 October 2026.
This page explains how to get a copy of the data a Marka Shopify app holds, how a shopper's request reaches us, and what is deleted, and when, if you uninstall.
1. Your store's data
- Marka Metrics exports any report as CSV, Excel, PDF or JSON. A file you export can be downloaded for 7 days.
- Marka Bundles & Upsells lets the store owner download the store's data from the app's settings, on every plan.
- Any other copy, or a copy from Marka Reviews or Marka Cart Drawer: email support@houseofmarka.com from your store's contact address, and we will send it within 30 days.
To correct or delete account data we hold about you as a merchant, write to the same address.
2. A shopper's request
Your customers' data is yours to control. When a shopper asks your store to see or erase their data, Shopify passes the request to each app you have installed. The apps act on it as soon as it arrives, and always within 30 days.
Marka Reviews
- Copy of the data. The app emails the shopper's records (review requests, reviews, questions and incentives) as a file to your store's email address. Pass them to the shopper.
- Erasure.
- Reviews: the name becomes "Anonymous", and the email, location, photos, videos and custom answers are removed. The star rating, title and text stay, so your rating history stays accurate. Delete the review in the app if it should go entirely.
- Questions are anonymised the same way.
- Review requests are deleted.
- The email is removed from incentive records.
- The shopper's photos and videos are deleted from your Shopify Files.
Marka Bundles & Upsells
- Copy of the data. The app prepares the shopper's records for your store's owner to download and pass on. They are kept for 30 days.
- Erasure. The shopper's order summaries, offer events and after-payment records are deleted. A marker, made from a keyed hash, stops them being imported again.
Marka Cart Drawer
- Copy of the data. The app builds an encrypted export of the shopper's profile, carts and orders, which you download under Settings → Privacy requests. It is kept for 30 days.
- Erasure.
- The shopper's profile, carts, contact details and identity links are deleted.
- Their customer ID is removed from orders, drawer events and attribution records.
Marka Metrics
- Copy of the data. The app builds a package of the shopper's records and emails your store a link to it. The package is kept for 30 days.
- Erasure.
- The customer record is deleted, with every storefront visit linked to that shopper.
- Their customer ID, city, postal code and visit addresses are removed from your orders, and the order copies lose their address and customer details.
- Any exported file is withdrawn.
- Region and country stay on the orders, as anonymous sales geography.
3. When you uninstall
Shopify tells each app when it is uninstalled, and 48 hours later sends a request to erase the store's data.

Afterwards:
- Backups are kept for 7 days (Marka Reviews and Marka Cart Drawer) or 14 days (Marka Bundles & Upsells and Marka Metrics), then overwritten.
- Technical logs are kept for 30 days.
- What an app created inside your Shopify store, such as review photos in your Shopify Files or tags added to customers, stays in your store under your control.
What we keep after uninstall:
- billing records, as long as tax and accounting law requires;
- for Marka Reviews, the store's address and trial dates, so a free trial is not taken twice;
- for Marka Reviews, email addresses that unsubscribed, so they stay unsubscribed.
